Got Your Web Priorities Straight?

When you're in a hurry to eat during your busy day, there's the drive-through. You order, you pay, the bag of food is shoved in your window and you're off again. But sometimes the fries are missing or there's mayonnaise on the burger when you specifically said "NO mayonnaise." Irritating, isn't it?

At the end of last March, the processing company who handles payments for the four major credit cards was hacked. It was reported that 1.5 million account numbers might have been stolen, but the average Joe got more irritated over mistakes in his $5 lunch.

We need to get our priorities straight!

Because your website may not be handling a million credit card accounts you may think it doesn't really matter what you do. But poor choices in web design, function and marketing can hurt both your reputation and your bottom line. Here are a few of the most common mistakes folks make when they aren't thinking clearly:

  • No "call to action" or "buy now" button

  • Failure to use search terms that attract customers

  • Broken links on the pages

  • Difficult-to-use shopping carts

  • Outdated content with no way to update it

  • Boring or useless information

You could be turning customers away or losing sales. Check your website's analytics to see how people are using your current site. Are you drawing them in or are they turning away? At what point do you lose them? Tools like Content Management, A-B Testing and Site Analytics can help you focus like never before.

Your website is the 24/7 representative of your business and deserves more of your attention than a fast food order. Your web success is our priority. Contact us today to discuss what we can do together.
