Boost Facebook Posts Straight from Hootsuite

DIY Sprocket Solutions

Hootsuite is taking automation to a whole new level. They’ve added the capability to boost Facebook content directly from Hootsuite. For those that don’t already know, Hootsuite is a social media marketing / management dashboard. It allows you to manage your entire social media presence with one easy to use management tool. The site allows users to schedule and post updates to any page or profile for Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+, Instagram, WordPress, and much more. Instead of logging in to multiple accounts on multiple platforms, you have all of your social media posting and tracking available in one spot.

Now, they’ve added to that the ability to save further time and effort by boosting Facebook posts directly from your dashboard. You have the same customization available to “boost” a post that you do when you’re logged into Facebook. On Hootsuite you can still: decide the post you want to boost, decide the audience you want to boost the post to, for how long, and how much you want to spend.

Hootsuite has several different plans to choose from, but the boosting feature is actually included in all of these plans: the free plan, the professional plan, the team plan, the business plan and the enterprise plan. For those who haven’t boosted a post on Facebook before, consider it as a feature that provides users with a simple way to amplify their Facebook posts. It’s like a mini advertisement. Organic reach for businesses on Facebook continues to shrink. Paid advertising, even on a very small scale like when boosting a post, goes a long way into being sure that your content is still in front of your customers.

It’s a great way to extend your reach, create more fans or follows and to get more out of your advertising dollars.

From Hootsuite:

As organic reach continues to decline, boosting content is an essential tactic for social media marketers. […] because boosting is so quick and easy, it’s especially valuable for those pressed for time or still learning about social advertising. The key to successfully boosting a post is to pick content that’s already performing well organically. Every business will have a different definition of a successful organic post. First, define a threshold. That is a number of likes, clicks or video views that a post needs to be a candidate for boosting. Look at the results of your organic content over the past several months. Then use the average number of likes clicks or shares to determine a threshold for which posts to boost.

The ability to boost a post was already introduced to Facebook a long time back. The advantage that Hootsuite is adding to the game is that they are conveniently offering this same tool on their platform so that you can automate this part of your social media strategy at the same time and place that you are doing the rest. This is a great integration between the two companies.
