The great beast that is the internet is a tricky business tool to maneuver, especially for those of us who aren’t as computer literate as others.  Don’t get me wrong, it’s a great asset to all of us; however it can be slightly daunting to sit back and look at the scope of what you’re trying to accomplish with your business.  Where to start?!  - is a common and completely reasonable question.  There are so many paths to take to make sure your business is a success, but figuring out which will have the greatest payoff can take some good old fashioned trial and error.

Everyone wants to have a successful business, and although it’s intimidating for some of you, nowadays that means a well oiled website and a great social media standing.  The good news is that we definitely have all the tools to help your website take off.  The hardest part is getting started and then keeping everything updated.  It’s definitely manageable though, and the payoff is better than you may think.

Since starting with Sprocket Websites, I’ve learned a lot about my own range of capabilities.  To be completely honest, I’ve been known to refer to myself on multiple occasions as “technologically challenged”.  I’m talking, never Skyped in my life before I talked to Jim kind of challenged.  If you are wondering if I was completely terrified of crashing and burning –the answer is yes!  The more I’ve worked my way around the online business world, however, the more I’ve learned.  If you’re willing to put in the effort and at least try to learn; you’re going to go far.  So for those of you who are still learning, welcome aboard!  You don’t know how to update your event calendar on your website, send out a company newsletter, or even build your own DIY website?  Perfect, neither do I.  We’ll learn together.  I won’t always be successful and I’ll tell you all about my flops (so hopefully they won’t be your flops as well!)  I want to hear your questions and concerns and we can work through them together.  Whether you’re tech savvy or tech illiterate we’ll take one step at a time and figure out how to make your website work for you.  The best part is that if we ever get stuck – Jim, Don, Kate, and Susan are pros… and that’s a lot of back up.
