Twitter Revamps Ads and Introduces Ad Groups

DIY Sprocket Solutions

Basically all of the "big dog" platforms on social media have advertising options for advertisers. Twitter has had ads for a long while now, but they are revamping! Twitter has recently introduced their "ads editor" tool. This tool enables advertisers to create and edit multiple campaigns at once. How is it done? Users can export the ad details to a spreadsheet and then reload them with the updated details.

Have an ad campaign that you like to run every few months? This revamping and addition of the editor tool makes it easier for advertisers to copy, edit, and publish past campaigns without starting completely over every time. You also have the ability to work on multiple campaigns at once with the “ad groups” tool. Advertisers can now categorize and edit campaigns that are targeted for a particular audience and specific products in the same ad set.

From Twitter:

Similar to how other ad platforms are structured, ad groups introduce a new level in our campaign hierarchy: one campaign can have many ad groups, and an ad group can have many targeting criteria and creatives. This level of granular control helps advertisers improve how they measure results, set promotion schedules, test different audiences, and identify which Tweets work best.

Users can use the new tools: "ads editor" and "ad groups" to more easily target multiple individual groups to maximize campaign performance.  In your Twitter ads dashboard, these campaigns will be divided up into ad groups that will appear with a blue “ad groups” badge. You then simply click one and you’re able to see the performance of each individual campaign within that set.

So, what makes it the most convenient and helpful about it? It truly is a way to manage multiple campaigns while allowing you to tweak and edit. If this sounds a little daunting, you can learn to use this through Twitter. They have added an education module to their free Twitter Flight School program.

Has anyone tried the new "ads editor" or "ad groups" tools yet?  What did you think? I'd be interested to see if they are as beneficial to small business marketers as they are to big businesses.  What are your thoughts? Comment below!
